Dr. Freny Karjodkar
Dr. Freny Karjodkar received her BDS and MDS from the University of Mumbai, India. (1982/1984). Presently she holds the post of Professor and Head of Department, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, Nair Hospital Dental College, Maharashtra, India. She has been involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students for the last 31 years. She has guided more than 200 scientific papers and posters as well as 100 dissertations in the subject of Oral Medicine, Oral Radiology, Forensic Medicine, and Oral Pathology. She was the chief coordinator for the first Dental Education Technology (DET) Cell (2008) in India, and the Chairperson of Synergy X, the first accredited (DCI) continuing education workshop on CBCT, organized by the Department of Oral Medicine Radiology at Nair Hospital Dental College. She has been actively involved with setting up CBCT centers in Mumbai. She is the author of three books; Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology, (2006/2014), a contributor for Manual on HIV Diseases for the Dental Professionals, published by the Indian Dental Association and Mumbai District Aids Control Society and Contributor, Diagnostic Oral Medicine, Section 6, Orofacial Pain and some neurological disorders, 1st Edition, 2013, [Wolters Kluwer (India) Pvt. Ltd. New Delhi] and Essentials of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology (2018). She was selected as a cultural ambassador to the Philippines by the Rotary Club (1990), She has received; Man of Achievement Award (1999), Recognition as a triple O top reviewer (2010-2011), Service to Humanity Awards-2016, AHTESAAB. Presently, she has actively involved in the Covid Care Centre (Step 2) facilities at Nair Dental besides running the Dental OPD.
