In this article, the author expresses her emotion and views on suicidal tendencies and the rate of occurrence of suicidal cases.
The views are represented in a dramatic way considering the place as a heaven where all the institutes of life and death are concerned about the increasing rate of suicidal death among the younger generation.
The author has taken herself as an entity who had visited heaven and witness a conversation among the deans of the institute of life and death and thought that this was an eye-opening fact that how the upcoming generation who are walking towards demotivation, lethargy, depression, and hence directly or indirectly, the youth is continuously walking towards death due to the suicidal thoughts after the consequences of above said happening.
So let's see what happens when the curtains of the dramatic representation of the author's emotion are lifted in this blog.
Today we visited the institute of life and death. It is the world’s oldest institute of the vastest museum of all human beings where the accountant records the sin and good deeds. It consists of two distributed parts of the museum.
1) Life
2) Death
Death includes cases of diseases, accidents, murder, suicide, as well as a natural death.
However, the dean of this institute is the Yamaraja. Yamaraja is the Hindu God of death and justice, responsible for the dispensation of law and punishment in the Yamloka according to Hindu mythology.
His assistant is Chitragupta. He records the people at the global level. Suddenly, someone called the meeting at the dean’s office in the administration office. Thus both the life and death thought in their mind that what is the purpose of this emergency meeting.
In the meeting, Yamraja ask both life and death with aggression “Where are the Suicidal Cases Staying?”
Death calmly and politely answers Yamraja “Suicide Cases Stay in my Museum Room”.
Then Yamraja asked from death, why in recent decades suicide has had a massive increase in the number of data.
What is going on?
Yamaraja said that I saw one video of a blue whale challenge (Suicide Game), in which the children commit suicide.
He asked both, death and life that do you both know that it`s a serious concern and it’s complaining to the director means all the GOD to reach them.
However, in two days I answered and gave them the report of suicides.
Death answers Yamraja, you have to understand that in the past years Chitragupta made the register of suicide.
It was made only for those people who don't have any goal in their own life, only those people targeted suicide.
In the previous year people connected with nature and at that time when I make the suicide register I didn't find many numbers targeting it.
On the other hand, in recent years’ suicide applies to the new many registered by the administration and hiring many consultants.
Yamraja said what is the modus operandi of suicide?
How to know which body to enter and control the mind & thoughts?
Death answers to him that people's living and their lifestyles decide to modus operandi.
There are many other factors responsible such as social media being the one platform where people who feel alone, start to talk to and trust strangers people.
This social media also provide younger kids with a lot of information about how to commit suicide if they fail to do their thing once in their life.
The next factor is liquor and drugs. These factors are very effective for suicidal thoughts and control the body by the mind.
Thus the Yamraja asked, I want to meet to suicide!
Death is calling suicide in the meeting room.
Yamraja asked to suicide how to set up all these?
Suicide answered “It`s very easy to way.
I only have problems with psychiatrists or psychologists.
I stay away from that person. there is always some modification in my work which makes my techniques to be different and unique.
My biggest enemy is yoga, exercise, and meditation. If anywhere these things exist I don`t stay there.
Yamraja asked, how has your demand increased so quickly?
Life said that if a person progresses, then his life becomes more comfortable.
But in the pursuit of this progress and competition with others, a person forgets his principal and moral values.
People think of things that are not in their hands. People seem to be jealous and lose everything in their drug addiction, alcohol and any other bad habits.
Death said that the lack of awareness about suicide in society is also a reason for this increase.
However, there is a law in IPC section 309 in which suicide is considered a crime.
In law, it is stated that “Whoever attempts to commit suicide or does any act towards the commission of such offence, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year 1(or with fine/or with both”.
Yamraja asked from suicide, do tell me, how would a person accept to commit suicide at the last moment?
Suicide said there are many resources available to accept me. Like if someone hangs from a fan, someone cuts a vein in his/her hand, someone eats poison, someone kills themself with a gunshot to his head, and someone jumps in front of a train, and so on.
Now let's come to the reality, here is a short data about the number of Suicides during 2018-2020 (As per data provided by NCRB)
Year | Total Number of Suicides | Mid-Year Projected Population (in Lakh+) |
2018 | 1,34,516 | 13233.8 |
2019 | 1,39,123 | 13376.1 |
2020 | 1,53,052 | 13533.9 |
As per the data, the majority of suicides were reported in Maharashtra (19,909) followed by 16,883 suicides in Tamilnadu, 14,578 suicides in Madhya Pradesh, 13,103 suicides in West Bengal, and 12,259 suicides in Karnataka accounting for 13.0%, 11.0%, 9.5%, 8.6% and 8.0% of total suicides respectively.
These 5 States together accounted for 50.1% of the total suicides reported in the country. Delhi, which is the most-populous UT, has reported the highest number of suicides (3,142).
‘Family Problems’ and ‘Illness’ were the major causes of suicides which accounted for 33.6% and 18.0% of total suicides respectively in 2020.
‘Drug Abuse/ Addiction’ (6.0%), ‘Marriage Related Issues’ (5.0%), ‘Love Affairs’ (4.4%), ‘Bankruptcy or Indebtedness’ (3.4%), ‘Unemployment’ (2.3%) ,‘Failure in Examination’ (1.4%), ‘Professional/Career Problem’ (1.2%) and ‘Poverty’ (1.2%) were other causes of suicides.

The majority of suicides committed by persons engaged in Private Sector Enterprises were reported in Maharashtra (1,702 out of 10,166 suicides), Tamil Nadu (1,536 suicides), Karnataka (1,006 suicides), Gujarat (900 suicides),
Of the total suicides committed by students, 13.2% were reported in Maharashtra (1,648 suicides out of 12,526) followed by 11.7% in Odisha (1,469 suicides). These data showed that Maharashtra state was at the top in cases of reported suicide.
It's very challenging for forensic experts to solve suicide cases.
For many experts professionals, it has become a complex task, such as documents experts who are involved to identify the handwriting from the suicide note, crime scene investigators, who are involved in collecting the shreds of evidence from the crime scene, the post-mortem experts who are involved to determine the cause of suicide, and a forensic psychologist who is involved for the psychological autopsy of the victim, and victims' thought process by reading the brain waves with help the EEG to identify that what is the mental situation of the suicidal person and why they have that tendency to do that?
I have analysed the suicidal cases and hence taken a step forward for the prevention of suicide with public awareness programs and motivational dramatic roadshows.
Although several approaches have shown evidence for suicide prevention, it's likely that a combination of strategies may work better than isolated approaches.
Many of the interventions described are multidimensional, and isolating the effective components in order to delineate the best practice elements in each strategy remains a difficult task.
With this, I end this article with a phrase which states the emotional in-depth of the person having suicidal thoughts
“You will never understand the hell I feel inside my head”
