    MODULE 1 – FORENSIC CHEMISTRY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE FRAMEWORKS

    In this module, you will learn the fundamentals of forensic chemistry, its role within the legal system, and its scope and significance in criminal investigations in identifying and analyzing chemical evidence. The module also covers real-world cases involving chemical substances, various analytical techniques used for detection and examination, and the importance of maintaining legal compliance, accuracy, and reliability in handling chemical evidence to ensure its admissibility in court.

    MODULE 2 – INTRODUCTION TO TYPES OF CHEMICAL EVIDENCE

    This module focuses on different types of chemical evidence encountered in forensic investigations, fire and arson investigations, and analysis of fire debris to identify accelerants and causes of fire. You will also learn how to assess explosion scenes, perform qualitative analysis of explosives and improvised explosive device (IED) debris, and conduct forensic examinations of petroleum products and their relevance in identifying sources and linking suspects to crime scenes.

    MODULE 3 – TRACE EVIDENCE ANALYSIS

    This module covers trace evidence analysis to link suspects, victims, and crime scenes; examination of materials such as fibers, paints, glass, and soil; and application of microscopic techniques and chemical tests for their identification. The module also teaches you real-world forensic case examples to illustrate how trace evidence contributes to criminal investigations and strengthens evidentiary value.

    MODULE 4 – ANALYSIS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR

    This module focuses on the forensic analysis of alcoholic substances, particularly illicit liquor. It provides an overview of alcoholic beverages and the different types of alcohol encountered in forensic cases. The module also explores methods used for the preliminary analysis of illicit beverages, highlighting the identification of harmful or adulterated substances and their medico-legal implications.

    MODULE 5 – ADVANCEMENT IN FORENSIC CHEMISTRY

    In this module, you will get an overview of recent advancements and emerging areas in forensic chemistry, covering the concept of food forensics, focusing on the detection of adulteration and contamination in food products. The module also explores the role of nanotechnology in forensic science, including nanoforensics and nanochemistry, highlighting how advanced scientific techniques are enhancing the precision and efficiency of forensic investigations.
