Dr. Deepak V.

Dr. Deepak V is a Dentist with a specialization in Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Microbiology & Forensic Odontology. He has completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 2009 from at M R Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital, Bengaluru and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in 2013 from P M Nadagouda Memorial Dental College and Hospital, Bagalkot in the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, Microbiology & Forensic Odontology with University 2nd Rank in RGUHS Examinations.

He further underwent extensive training in Forensic Odontology, Disaster Victim Identification, Facial Reconstruction, Anthropology & Exhumation. He has presented 60 research papers at various national and international conferences, his papers have been awarded Best Research Paper. He was conferred with “EXCELLENCE IN FORENSIC ODONTOLOGY” award in 2020 by IADS at Connexon and “YOUNG RESEARCHER AWARD” at 4th International Conference on Forensic Science & Toxicology at Singapore. He has 25 research publications to his credit published at national and international journals. He has conferred with Dr R M Mathur award, Dr. K S Ganapathy Award, Dr. B K Venkataraman Award, Sri H S Shivaswamy Award, Sri V S Kuber Award for his academic excellence.  He has a vast research and teaching experience, served as Junior Research Scientist at Scintilla Academy, Senior Resident at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Government of India and as Executive Doctor at Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust, Government of India. He has delivered more than 75 Guest lectures and conducted more than 30 workshops in Forensic Odontology, Anthropology and DVI operations across the country. He has actively contributed to solving forensic odontology-related cases and has been an integral part of DVI operations. His achievements have been highlighted in numerous national and regional newspapers.

As a dedicated Resource Faculty, he provides Disaster Victim Identification training to the Armed Forces at the Airforce Institute of Dental Sciences and the Institute of Aviation Medicine. He holds an adjunct faculty position at several universities, educating students in Forensic Odontology. Furthermore, he acts as a course mentor at various colleges and universities, in addition to serving as an Executive Committee Member of IAFO & IDA. Notably, he recently delivered a guest lecture on AI-based identification in Forensic Odontology at the invitation of CSI Korea, making history as the first Asian to represent India at the Korean CSI Conference.
