Dr. Sumiti Ahuja

Dr. Sumiti Ahuja is a committed teaching professional with over twelve years of experience in legal education. She has taught core subjects including Law of Evidence, Law of Crimes, Interpretation of Statutes, and Law of Contract. Before entering academia, Dr. Ahuja contributed to two government-funded research projects under different ministries of the Government of India. She has also developed audio-video teaching modules for the Swayam Prabha and UGC e-PG Pathshala initiatives. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Delhi, where her research—“Criminal Justice Administration and Forensic Expert Evidence: A Study of Issues and Challenges with Regard to Indian Jurisdiction”—involved a nationwide empirical study of key stakeholders in the criminal justice system, including forensic scientists, police officers, judges, prosecutors, and defense lawyers. Dr. Ahuja’s academic interests lie at the intersection of criminal justice, forensic science, and evidentiary law, with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and innovative pedagogy.
